Acute Care of the Elderly Nurse Practitioner
An opportunity has arisen to join the Care of the Elderly Team in University Hospital Monklands as an Acute Care of the Elderly Nurse Practitioner. The post offers experience in a range of settings where frail patients are cared for including the 24 bedded Frailty Assessment Unit, Acute Care of the Elderly rehabilitation ward, Acute Medical Receiving Unit and Medical Admissions Unit. The post also offers the opportunity for further development across a range of additional Care of the Elderly settings.
The successful applicant will be a Registered Nurse educated to or working towards Degree Level. It is essential that the successful candidate has excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills and is able to demonstrate effective leadership to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
As a key individual within the Care of the Elderly Multidisciplinary team, it is also essential that the successful candidate is able to demonstrate excellent team working skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative.
This is an exciting time for University Hospital Monklands as planning is underway for the Monklands Replacement Program which will see the Frailty Assessment Unit located within the new Emergency Care Village. The successful candidate will, as part of the multidisciplinary team, participate in the design and development of new processes for the new unit.
