HSJ Best Places to Work 2015 Top 100 ______________________________________________________________________________________ THE HILLINGDON HOSPITAL NHS TRUST AUDIOLOGY SERVICES DEPUTY HEAD OF AUDIOLOGY We are looking for an enthusiastic Audiologist to work in our friendly Audiology Departments at Hillingdon Hospital and Mount Vernon Hospitals. The post is based in Adult Audiology in Hillingdon Hospital but we have a close relationship with the Paediatric Audiology, the NewBorn Hearing Screening Programme team and the Child Development Centre which are also based in the Hillingdon Hospital. The post holder will be a higher level staff member who will be expected to deputise for the Head of Service in their absence in the running of the Hearing Aid Centre. The post holder would be required to participate in the running of the service and undertaking clinics in both Hillingdon Hospital and Mount Vernon Hospitals. Ordering of consumables on both sites will be required. We are a NHS Modernisation Hearing Aid Service site, a third wave NHS Modernisation of Children Hearing Aid Service site and a second wave Newborn Hearing Screening Programme site and there is a close working relationship with the education services. We serve the population of London Borough of Hillingdon providing a full Audiology Service using Audiometric, behavioural and objective forms of testing and NHS digital hearing aids. This is an opportunity to gain further experience in Audiology and would involve diagnostic assessment and auditory rehabilitation. Applicants should be able to work without direct supervision, using their own initiative and have the ambition to move readily with change. The service is currently working towards a 7 day service including evenings. We invite applicants with education in Audiology at least to a university degree level.
