Duties And Responsibilities
You will join an established team of expert flow cytometrists with particular strengths in cell biology, immunology, and engineering. You will contribute to all aspects of facility operation and development, including flow cytometry analysis, sorting, quality control, trouble shooting, instrument development, user training, as well as data analysis, management and visualisation. You will liaise with other facilities using related technologies, such as microscopy, genomics, IT, and bioinformatics.
Essential Requirements
You should have a degree or postgraduate degree in the biological sciences or a related discipline. Expertise in high parameter flow cytometry and cell sorting will be an advantage, but training can be provided where required. As a minimum, you should have sufficient experience to judge whether flow cytometry is for you. There will be added emphasis on the development of new methods that extend the scope of flow cytometry at the LMS and Imperial College, which will require excellent laboratory skills, a high level of creativity and innovation, and a desire to learn new skills.
Opportunities within the role involve exposure to a wide range of exciting biomedical projects, attending scientific lectures and meetings, and involvement in research projects and publications.
