Head of Patient Access and Discharge

We at The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate to lead our patient access/capacity and discharge team. We are looking for brilliant individuals who can be part of our fast-moving, innovative and ambitious team, dedicated to supporting members of our communities to manage their own health at home and reduce their stay in hospital to an absolute minimum.

The ideal candidate will be dynamic, adaptable and have the ability to identify issues and provide solutions, with a team focused attitude and patient safety at the forefront of any decision making.

  • To manage effective and efficient working practices for site management across The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust
  • Actively maintain effective working relationships with staff across the organisation and throughout the wider health and social care system.
  • Work through all aspects of the patient journey, minimising delays and promoting improved access for patients
  • Work with clinical and managerial teams to drive improvements to patient flow
  • Champion and deliver continuous service improvement, with emphasis on improving keeping patients at home with their loved ones, improving patient experience and reducing harm
  • Drive improvement in patient access to exceed national standards

To apply, you must hold current registration as a Registered Nurse. You should be able to demonstrate a successful track record of leading and managing successful high performing teams and services will be paramount. In addition, you should be able to demonstrate exceptional communication skills and be ambitious for our patients.

For new entrants, which is a person under the age of 25, a student switching from Tier 4 to Tier 2 of the immigration system or a new graduate recruit, the minimum salary threshold remains at £20,800. Nurses, paramedics and medical radiographers are currently exempt from the salary threshold.
