The role of the Moving and Handling Advisor is to deliver expert moving and handling advice, which allows NHS Lanarkshire to deliver safe quality healthcare within the financial constraints of the service.

Development, implementation and maintenance of measures to achieve the objectives of NHS Lanarkshire’s Health and Safety Strategy in general, and the Moving and Handling Policy in particular.

Lead the provision and effectiveness of specialist moving and handling support by a combination of influence on standards and direction of devolved specialist services.

Provide NHS Lanarkshire with high calibre expert advice, guidance and policy infrastructure relative to moving and handling which facilitates its ability to respond and manage all related risks appropriately.
