Duties and Responsibilities
The Department would like to hire an Operations Administrator to join its Professional Services team.
The post holder will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day administration of the department and facilitating the effective management of financial and human resources. The successful candidate will be key member of the departmental administration and will be required to establish good working relationships with academic and administrative staff within the department and within UCLs Finance and Human Resources Divisions with whom they will work closely. The post holder will work closely with and will primarily support the Staffing and Finance Manager, and the Research Manager.
This is a open ended post and is available immediately.
Key Requirements
The successful candidate must have relevant financial experience obtained in Higher Education, significant experience in a similar role within Higher Education, experience of financial systems and budgeting processes including the preparation and monitoring of budgets, experience in the administration of HR and recruitment processes within organisational policies and procedures and experience of setting up new systems.
The candidate must also have knowledge of accounting and financial procedures, preferably within a Higher Education setting, outstanding administrative and organisational skills including excellent planning and time management skills, proven ability to successfully manage and prioritise competing workloads and deadlines and the ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
Experience in using MyFinance System (Oracle) and experience in using worktribe or similar research costing tool would be desirable.
