An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Rotary Ward at William Harvey Hospital for a full time Ward Clerk/Receptionist working 37.5 hours per week including weekends. The role consists –
To greet all patients and visitors on arrival to the ward
- To provide a full clerical service to the reception and ward as defined by Ward Manager
To answer the telephone, adhering to the Trust telephone standard
To communicate and liaise with other members of the Health Care Team
- To file and retrieve notes as required
To adhere to operational policies and procedures in relation to Health & Safety and Fire Policies
To book patient transport for patients being discharged as requested by nursing staff, liaising with transport department and central booking office as necessary
To sort and distribute unit’s mail
To be involved in the discharge process ensuring data is recorded on the PAS system in a timely manner
To assist senior staff with ad-hoc projects
- To ensure the confidentiality of patients and staff at all times
To ensure that all ward attenders are recorded on PAS system and where appropriate appointments are made
